Finally . . . My Life Explained!

Easter Bash at Church

Our church put on a kids' Easter party, including a drama, craft, and egg hunt. It was at the exact time of Aiden's nap, hence the serious face. He wasn't sure about the craft (he's too much of a perfectionist) but he caught on to egg hunting very quickly. And when it was all over, he was still hunting for eggs! It was all I could do to convince him to play with his friends and stop obsessing about the possibility that there might be a few more eggs just a bit further in the woods.

A Bump in the Night

Andy and I woke with a start last night when we heard a loud crash downstairs. Thankfully, my mind was actually working (a shocker, at this stage in pregnancy!) and I immediately identified it as falling wooden blocks. Upon examination, Andy declared that the East Tower was down.

Bad Day Turned Good

Ever have a bad luck day? Mine was yesterday. It started with the fact that I decided to wear sweatpants out in public (I know, that was probably the trigger for it all!). It was devilishly cold out, but Aiden and I went out to lunch anyways. I decided to take a different and round-about way to our destination just for fun: a cop was on my tail the whole time. And because the backroads are not well marked, I was like a 16 year old, nervous as heck the whole way. We finally make it, no getting pulled over. I chose Subway because they have Cherry Coke: the machine was giving out way too much carbonation and not enough syrup. Yuck. Then we went to the grocery store. We went in a side entrance, which smelled like the worst boys' locker room ever. Our cart even wafted the odor all over the store. I got nauseous. I couldn't locate boxes of matches for anything. Grrr. Prilosec was not on sale. (The only pill I can get Andy to take on a daily basis). At the register, I can't find my debit card. I couldn't believe it. I had to write a check! There are few things in this world I distain more than those who write checks at the grocery store! I made sure everyone around me knew this was not normal for me. We got to the stinky alcove on our way outside, I opened my sunglass case, and found my sunglasses in two pieces. That's it! I'm going home and calling it a day. I wasn't even in the mood for baking, lest an ingredient be left out or a batch of cookies burn. After dealing with a two year old tantrum, I got the boy down for a nap. I glanced out the window to see the mailman heading up the driveway. I flew down the stairs (round belly and all), and caught him before he rang the doorbell (a sure way to wake a drowsy munchkin). He had an enormous box from my mother in law! Selfishly, not waiting for either Aiden or Andy, I tore into it. Not to brag, I won't detail the contents, but let me suffice it to say that they put a smile on my face and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much, Sharon! You are the best! The Lord definitely used your giving heart to turn my day around!

My Little Boy

Ever since he was a newborn, I have said the phrase "my little boy" to my firstborn son whenever we look into a mirror together or we are just sharing a special mommy-son moment. These few pics epitomize that little boy that I love so much. Everything about him, his looks, personality, and developing love for the Lord in his heart melts MY heart!

Oh Brother!

Andy couldn't resist bugging his little sis for even 5 minutes. She made the mistake of turning her back on him: she ended up with a huge snowball down the back of her shirt. Andy thoroughly enjoyed every minute of her discomfort!

Sass Walk

It was virtually warm outside, so we went for a walk! Sara was obsessed with the remaining snow, and of course, Aiden insisted on mimicking his aunt's every move.

Aunt Sass is Visiting!

After only 60 seconds of shyness, Aiden warmed up to his Aunt Sass and enjoys her doing everything for him. She's like his personal servant - he's in heaven!

For Grandpa Freddie

Well, if you whine enough at me, I will comply. Just kidding! Here are some pics of the guys at the "Man Store." Sometimes they go just for fun. They return home empty handed, but their minds are full of projects!

For You, Dad!

I was just on the phone with Mom, and all I could hear was Dad yelling in the background that he wants to see more pictures. So here are some I found! They are from a few weeks back, when it was "warm" and we ditched the snow coats for lighter jackets and went for a walk. Enjoy!

Saturday

A Day of Aub

Friday was MY day. It began with a visit to my hairstylist. Thanks for the awesome highlights and trim, MJ! After a fun couple of hours at the salon, I hit the main drag, bought a frumpy sweater on clearance for around the house, and tried the new pizza place. Delish! Then it was off to the dr's for the weekly visit. Baby's head is low! Got home, went for a walk with Aiden, made dinner, and then it was off to the nail salon with Amy! Pedi's and mani's (and Amy's eyebrow wax!) and then a late nite dinner at a greasy burger place. Yum, yum! Home by 10 - exhausted but somehow refreshed!
