Political Humor

If you didn't know, I studied politics in college and although I am consumed with raising a family at the moment, I still enjoy dabbling in political intrigue whenever I get a minute.

This picket just cracks me up because at the moment I am very, very familiar with diapers and what they are capable of holding!

Why haven't I heard of WALNUT?! Workers Against Lazy Non-Producers United Together — the conservative answer to ACORN. I love it!

Now go out and watch Fox News!

Autumn Decor, Counter Cookies & Dinner

My neighbor, Anna has had her autumn decor up since September 1st, so it was high time I got my bum in gear! Today was declared a stay-at-home day (ok, minus my quick run in town for foundation ... I was completely out!!). We broke out the fall totes and went to town! Aiden had a great time seeing all the surprises in the boxes and he was thrilled with the pumpkin theme.

And of course, it's football season (Andrea, let's commiserate together!).
We root for the Denver Broncos in our house, occasionally the Cardinals cuz they're from Arizona, and whoever is starring on Andy's 2 fantasy football teams.

I wanted Aiden to model this blanket. He kept moving so much ... 3rd picture was a charm, even though he wasn't smiling (I had just yelled at him "Be still!" I rarely raise my voice at him, and it scared him into sitting still!).

Aiden thought it was such a funny idea to put the cookies in the pumpkin jar instead of the normal cookie jar.

Dinner was leftover stew - Aiden rejected it the first night, so I broke out the chicken nugs tonight. But I guess he was full from all the pretzels. Bad Mommy!

Thanks for sharing the day with us! Hope your day was as much fun!

Happy Grandparents' Day!!!

To the Grandparents we love: Popeye and Olive Oyle, Grandma and Grandpa, Grandpa Freddie and Gigi, Grandma Bernie, Granny & Grandpa and Peggy . . . Happy Grandparents' Day! In your honor, some pictures that are visual proof that you can own this special holiday.

Those used to be Andy's jeans when he was little

I am sure you can find some similarities of yourselves in your grandsons ... so who does Aiden get the messiness from? Any takers??

P.S. Aiden is actually a pretty clean kid and never minds cleaning up. The bedroom disaster was an anomaly too good not to catch on camera. Now Ash on the other hand might become our messy one ... we'll have to wait a few years to see!

Tribute to My Hubbie

Babe, well, it's been 11 years since I met you in Honors English 9 and a few days shy of 9 years since that fateful day that you asked me to consider dating you, to see if we were "the ones" God intended for us. I'd have to say that we figured it out pretty quick! I won't lie, there are moments along the way that I wish I could erase, but by far, the memories these pictures bring are the sweetest ... even better than anything I could ever dream of! I praise the Lord for His handiwork in writing our Love Story and I look forward to the next chapter: we're due for a good one!

My Big Boy

This little guy just breaks my heart on a daily basis. He has such a tender heart but hides it behind a serious face and a determination of perfection. He analyzes life too much for a 2 year old, but I wouldn't change it for anything!
Because our days of being out-of-doors in the sunshine are limited, I encourage Aiden to be outside as much as possible. One of his favorite "chores" is watering the flowers. But as Aunt Sass' blog stated, "I guess he thought he was watering the plants, but it was more like watering everything else including himself." I need write no further.

This pics were before he turned the hose on himself!

Million Dollar Beach

What a great day! After a wonderful morning praising our Lord at church and down at the local lake for baptisms (yay Chris, Angie, Kayla and Jonathan!) I suggested that we run home, eat, pack, and head up to the lake in the mountains. So we did! We had such great family time splashing, running, building ... topped off with Italian and soft serve ice cream. The boys zonked out in the car on the way home. What a wonderful day!

Not Me Monday

NOOO, this is definitely NOT my 4 month old entranced with the candle. My boys are NOT pyros at all! And they would definitely NOT get it from their father if they were!
...
And that is NOT a mosquito bite on my baby's cheek. He NEVER goes outside without adult supervision at all times!
...
And that is NOT my baby in a Calvin Klein onesie! He is a very down-to-earth kinda baby.

Duvet Cover

It wasn't my intention ... but ... my mother-in-law took pity on me via my whiny blog and ordered that duvet cover! It came today and it looks great! Our master is well on its way to taking on the "old world sophisticated" that I dream for it to be. Thanks Sharon!
